New Products in Development
I have been working on a few new formulations that I just poured yesterday. I have a green tea and black pepper scent, and a turmeric milk bar. I will be posting photos of those on my Facebook page, but for now, the update:
The green tea with black pepper came out of both mold types I use beautifully. They need another day or so to finish hardening so that I can cut them, and a few weeks to cure, but they are looking pretty nice at the moment. Good color, good firmness, light scent, and the combination of the slightly ocean-like green tea with the black pepper is quite enticing. I am looking forward to cutting into the loaf to see how it looks, and I can’t wait to test it!
The turmeric soap came out of my loaf mold just fine, and while it started out nearly a carrot orange, it has lightened somewhat to a softer shade. The shallow molds that we use to make test bars are still very vibrantly orange, but the soap is quite a bit softer than I anticipated, and is sticking in the shallow molds still. Sometimes, certain formulations do not work well with acrylic, so I am going to give it another day or two to firm up in the shallow molds, and see if it comes out. If not, I will know that the turmeric formula can only be used in the loaf molds. The scent is incredibly light, and while I do not personally care much for the mustard smell of the raw turmeric, the lightness of the scent makes it unlikely to linger on the skin. We will find out for certain in a few weeks.
